Who We Are

The advocacy committee works with ARNM staff on advocacy issues, initiatives, and strategies to realize ARNM’s vision of advancing the nursing profession and public policy as leaders in health.

This committee requires members who are:

• Interested in furthering healthy public policy and advocating for nursing, healthcare, and the social determinants of health
• Willing to act as an ambassador for the organization
• Able to commit to the time required to participate on the committee

The awards committee provides recommendations for the Professional Nursing Awards and the Centennial Legacy Awards (administered through the Canadian Nurses Foundation).

This committee requires members who are:

• Interested in promoting and supporting the recognition of nursing excellence
• Willing to act as an ambassador for the organization
• Able to commit to the time required to participate on the committee

In keeping with ARNM's strategic goals, the Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) advisory group guides the ongoing development and direction of the ELN. This network was formed to provide opportunities for nursing students, new graduates, and novice nurses in the first five years of practice, to collectively share and explore solutions for common issues.

The advisory group facilitates opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, leadership, meeting/event facilitation, and professional development.

The board finance and audit committee ensures the development of processes, accountability, and performance measures that will maintain the financial integrity of ARNM.

Committee requirements:

• Governance experience on boards
• Experience in budgeting and finance
• Membership-based organization experience
• Able to commit to the time required to participate in the committee

The role of this committee is to perform delegated work related to aiding the board in achieving its strategic goals.

The role of the professional development committee is to coordinate educational opportunities, such as our weekly Talk Tuesday webinars, that are consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of ARNM. This committee is led by members for members.
