Dougald Lamont, 52, was born and raised in Winnipeg and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BA and an MA. Prior to being elected leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party in 2017, he worked as a PR and policy consultant, launching small businesses and the careers of City Councillors, MLAs, and MPs alike.
His greatest pride and joy are his family. He and his wife Cecilia have four children, who started a family band during the pandemic. He was elected MLA for St. Boniface in 2018, taking a seat that had been held by the NDP for 19 years, and was re-elected in 2019. #TalkTuesdays
