ARNM Congratulates The Honourable Kamal Khera on Her Appointment as Minister of Health

ARNM congratulates The Honourable Kamal Khera on her appointment as Canada’s Minister of Health. Minister Khera brings experience as a registered nurse, having worked in the oncology unit at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto before entering politics in 2015.

As an association dedicated to advancing nursing practice and health policy, we value the presence of health-care professionals in leadership roles.

We know that there is no specific department of Mental Health and Addictions in this cabinet. We anticipate that the Minister and team will work to ensure that the mental health of individuals and communities are considered as part of health services to Canadians.
