ARNM Supports Modernized Licensing to Strengthen Nursing Workforce
The Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) has released a statement from President Jacob Ahiaegbe affirming support for recent changes to licensure requirements for registered nurses in Manitoba. These updates, which affect Canadian labour mobility applicants, represent an important step toward addressing the province’s ongoing nursing shortages.
ARNM emphasizes the importance of balancing a rigorous licensing process with the need to remove unnecessary barriers, especially for internationally educated nurses, so that qualified professionals can begin practicing without delay.
"Modernizing licensure gives us a real opportunity to welcome and retain skilled nurses while continuing to uphold the high standards of nursing care that Manitobans rely on," said Jacob Ahiaegbe, President of the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba.
ARNM continues to work closely with government, regulatory bodies, and employers to promote equitable, transparent pathways for all qualified nurses seeking to practice in Manitoba.
