Happy Nursing Week From our President
National Nursing Week is a time to celebrate the immeasurable contributions of nurses to improving the lives of all Manitobans.
This year’s theme, "The Power of Nurses to Transform Health," calls us to reflect on nurses' transformative impact on our lives and the very fabric of our communities.
For over a century, nurses in Manitoba have demonstrated courageous altruism and advocacy, driving innovative and holistic health, social, and economic policies to address systemic inequities, protect patient autonomy, enhance patient safety, and promote population health. These policies have transformed lives and secured a better future for everyone in Manitoba and across Canada.
As the Association representing regulated nurses in Manitoba, grounded in our mission and values, we continue to build grassroots coalitions and community partnerships while collaborating with all levels of government to deliver balanced and holistic policy proposals that address critical issues affecting nurses and the health of the individuals and communities we serve.
This National Nursing Week, we celebrate and thank Manitoba nurses for their unwavering commitment to caring with compassion and for their courageous advocacy for healthy public policies that promote equity and support the health and well-being of Manitobans. You make Manitoba a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous province.
United in our shared values, let us continue to work together to shape the future of health care in our province, serving as a model for Canada. We should empower nurses as health leaders in all settings, advance our profession, and advocate for the communities we serve.
