Season’s Greetings from ARNM

As the holiday season approaches, we want to take a moment to celebrate you, our members.

Your dedication, compassion, and leadership make a difference every day, and we are grateful for the energy, expertise, and heart you bring to nursing in Manitoba.

This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the year gone by, appreciate the moments of growth and connection, and celebrate the incredible contributions of our nursing community.

From all of us at ARNM, we wish you warmth, joy, and time to recharge with family, friends, and loved ones.

Holiday Message from the President

Each of us experienced 2025 in our own unique way—some faced breakthroughs, others overcame hardships, and many found a mix of both. No matter the path, you persevered, you grew, and you emerged stronger—sometimes unaware that you are stronger.

As nurses, you embody resilience and courage every day—both in your work and personal lives. Your empathy, compassion, endurance, and kindness are true signs of strength.

As we celebrate this year's holiday festivities, please remember to appreciate the most important person in your life — you.

Wishing you the best this holiday season!

Jacob

Congratulations to ARNM Board member Justin Woodcock
Justin received the Circle of Honour Medallion, awarded by the Government of Manitoba to veterans and military members in recognition of exemplary service, dedication, and sacrifice.
In addition to being on our Board, Justin is a husband, father, and the Program Manager for Veterans Affairs with the Southern Chiefs Organization.

Looking Ahead to 2026
As we say goodbye to 2025, here are some things I am watching for:

  • The details of the arrangement that will make ARNM members also members of the Canadian Nurses Association.
  • Details of how nurses can apply for the scholarships and bursaries previously granted by FRNM for post-basic study in nursing.
  • The shared ARNM/CNA conference in September 2026. Save the dates: Sept 21–23.
  • Expanding the advocacy and work of ARNM.

Thank You to Nurses and Their Families
Thank you to nurses and their families and friends who recognize that health care is a 24/7/365 affair, and that someone needs to be there for the patients. I know my kids learned early on that we would celebrate with family and friends whether we celebrated on the same day as their friends or not. There were years when I could be home, and days when I worked so others could be with their family and friends.

Season’s Greetings
I want to wish all those who celebrate special holidays at this time of year the joy of the season!
